We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights available to you. By using our site or services, you agree to this Policy.
1) What we collect
A. You provide to us
Contact info (name, email, phone, company, job site address)
Project details (scope, timelines, creative notes)
Billing details (only via our payment processors—see below)
Messages you send (contact form, email, social DMs, testimonials)
B. Collected automatically (website & ads)
Device and usage data (IP address, browser/OS, pages viewed, time on page, clicks, referring URLs)
Cookies and similar tech (pixels, tags, SDKs) for analytics, functionality, and advertising
Tools we may use: Squarespace Analytics, Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta (Facebook/Instagram) pixel, YouTube/Vimeo embeds, and similar. These providers may set cookies or collect data when you visit our site.
C. From other sources
Payment processors (e.g., Stripe/PayPal/Square) confirm payment status—we don’t store full card numbers
Advertising and analytics partners
Publicly available sources and social media (if you interact with us there)
D. Client project content (footage)
During paid work we capture and process photo/video content, which may include images of people, vehicles, and property, plus related metadata (time, approximate location, drone/camera logs).
For client projects, OAV generally acts as a service provider/processor and the client is the controller of the finished media. We process footage at the client’s direction and per our contract.
If you appear in client footage and want to exercise privacy rights, we may direct you to the relevant client unless we control that footage.
2) How we use information
Provide and improve our services and website
Communicate with you (quotes, proposals, support, updates)
Create, edit, deliver, and back up project files
Process payments and send invoices/receipts
Personalize content and measure site/ad performance
Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or security issues
Comply with law, contracts, and enforce our terms
Advertising & analytics. We use analytics to understand site usage and may run online ads (e.g., Google/Meta). These may involve “cross-context behavioral advertising”/“targeted advertising” using cookies or similar tech.
No sale of personal information. We do not sell your personal information for money. Some states label certain ad/analytics sharing as a “sale” or “share.” Where that applies, you can opt out (see Your choices & rights).
3) Legal bases (EU/UK visitors, if applicable)
Where GDPR/UK GDPR applies, we rely on: contract, legitimate interests, consent (e.g., for certain cookies), and legal obligation. You can withdraw consent at any time where consent is used.
4) Sharing information
We share data only as needed with:
Service providers (hosting, cloud storage/backup, editing platforms, delivery tools, email/SMS services, scheduling, analytics/ads, payment processors) under contractual confidentiality and data-protection terms
Clients (when we act as a processor for their project content)
Legal and safety reasons (to comply with law or protect rights/security)
Business transfers (e.g., merger or acquisition)
With your direction or consent
We do not allow service providers to use your data for their own independent marketing.
5) Data retention
Client project files: kept for the duration of the engagement and a reasonable backup period (typically up to 24 months unless the contract specifies otherwise).
Quotes/communications: typically 24 months after last contact.
Billing records: retained as required by tax/accounting law (usually 7 years).
We may retain limited data longer when necessary for legal claims, audits, or security.
6) Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures (access controls, encryption-in-transit where supported, least-privilege practices, vendor due diligence). No system is 100% secure; please notify us immediately if you suspect a security issue.
7) Cookies & tracking
You can manage cookies in your browser. Our site may also display a cookie banner where you can adjust preferences (if enabled). For analytics/ads, you can also use:
Google Analytics opt-out: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
AdChoices/NAI tools: https://www.aboutads.info/choices and https://optout.networkadvertising.org
If your browser sends a recognized Global Privacy Control (GPC) or similar signal, we will honor it where required by law.
8) Your choices & rights
A. General choices

Cookies/ads: adjust browser settings, cookie banner (if shown), or the opt-out links above

Opt out of targeted advertising, certain profiling, and (where applicable) sale/share of personal information
To exercise these rights, contact us at openaerialvideo@gmail.com with “Privacy Request” in the subject, tell us which right you’re invoking, and provide enough information so we can verify your identity. If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying “Appeal” to our response. If your state law grants further remedies, we’ll inform you of them in our reply.

9) Sensitive data & children
We don’t intentionally collect sensitive personal data (e.g., health, precise geolocation beyond what devices inherently collect, government IDs) and we do not knowingly process data of children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided data, contact us and we will delete it.
If any project requires processing sensitive data, we will obtain the appropriate consent or follow the applicable legal requirements before doing so.
10) Third-party links & embedded content
Our site may link to third-party sites or display embedded content (e.g., YouTube, Vimeo, Instagram). Interacting with that content is governed by the third party’s privacy policy and settings.
11) Acting as a processor for clients
When we process footage or other content on behalf of a client, the client controls that data. We handle it only under our contract. If you have a privacy request about client-owned content, we may refer you to that client.
12) International transfers
If you access our site from outside the U.S., your data may be processed in the U.S. or other countries with different data-protection laws. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (e.g., contractual clauses).
13) Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We’ll post the new date at the top, and material changes may also be communicated by email or site notice. Your continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
